    Focus, Winslow.

Take the Ukraine testimony — abuse of power.

The complete Mueller Report including the underlying evidence — perjury, collusion, obstruction, Treason, massive corruption.

The DeutscheBank financial documents and Trump tax returns and business practices — loans co-signed by Russian oligarchs explain motivation for some of the massive corruption and some of the money laundering.

Just keep accumulating the evidence and publicize it. There will be a critical mass such that Republican legislators will no longer fear being primaried, which will enable them to no longer enable Trump. They might even revolt against Moscow Mitch.

The Defense Department’s message was clear: If the White House didn’t act, the Pentagon would be left with unobligated funds — money that would return to the U.S. Treasury and never make its way to Ukraine.

And the Pentagon was also clear that providing Ukraine the security assistance was in the national security interests of the United States, on that point Trump’s Cabinet agreed.

As for corruption, the pretext being given for why the funding was being withheld, the Pentagon had certified in May that the “Government of Ukraine has taken substantial actions to make defense institutional reforms for the purposes of decreasing corruption [and] increasing accountability.”

In late July, the Pentagon also alerted the White House that if the funding wasn’t released in time, the Pentagon would be at risk of violating the Impoundment Control Act, which punishes the executive branch when it doesn’t spend money that Congress has appropriated, the sources said.

But, the White House did not heed the Pentagon’s warnings. It continued to withhold the money through August and into September.

“Whom the Gods would destroy they first make mad.” Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, probably paraphrasing Sophocles, Seneca, and a few others.

    Running around in circles, why?

    You know it’s a crime

No less no more than a rose

No less no more than a rose

    Try to attach a meaning

    To words that you’ve heard

    Stumbling through the dark

Seems I’m stumbling through the dark

    Everybody’s stumbling through the dark

The men who proceeded us here

    Left only questions and fears

The vanity formed by beauty lies

    You know it’s a crime

    Stumbling through the dark

Seems I’m stumbling through the dark

    Everybody’s stumbling through the dark

Gary Michael Louris / Matthew Sweet
