Every last republican voted against it? Those intelligent, independent old white men! /s
Seriously, they do follow orders like lemmings. That’s why they never read anything, they’ve been ordered how to vote, and they kowtow obsequiously to their masters.
This registered Republican wants that awful creature out of office by any legal means that prevents his re-election. I haven’t been this reluctant to watch the morning news on TV since the horrible old days of the 1960s.
When I took Leadership in a Democratic Society in the Federal Executive Institute, my instructor for a session on Congress was a former chief of staff for multiple Republican congress members. She started the class with the observation that there was too much money in the political process. It’s only gotten worse since then. We won’t be able to address the extreme partisan problem in the American political process until we fix that problem.
Only Democrats are expected to be bipartisan. Republicans are so tribal they’ll sacrifice every last principle and belief in the name of Party, and that’s OK. Party Uber Alles.
Reagan’s 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not criticize a fellow Republican.” They’ve actually made Party Over Country an official policy.
The number of dems opposed to this phony impeachment is growing and will likely be in the 20’s when a vote is made. They know they will ose thier seats they gained in pro Trump districts if they support impeachment.
“Shouldn’t you have somehow miraculously gotten more Gops to vote for this inquiry? Forced them, perhaps, by threatening to withhold life-saving aid to make someone get you dirt on them? Perhaps you could have held the event at a Trump property. Did you even try simply saying they voted for it when they hadn’t? If you don’t care enough to lie, something Republicans are willing to do for a handful of copper, then I must question your commitment to the political process!”
Nancy’s the one who is right in this panel. If Trump said the sky is green, no Republican on that committee would disagree. Heck, Nunes and Jordan would say it’s not only green, but that it’s the fault of AOC’s New Green Deal, Obamacare and, and, and… uh, uh… HILLARY!
The posts by teachermike and Brain Pudding should be answered in the main thread, not as replies. After all, both supply no positive material but a lot of name-calling and false rumors. Next point, both have compositional errors in their English, which may indicate a basic unfamiliarity with American speech and writing…you may draw whatever conclusion from that that you wish.
The House was following the rules that were put in place by the Republicans in 2015 – but the Repubs whined. Then, even though 47 of them were included in the hearings because they are on the committees involved, the Repubs lied and called them secret.
The House put together rules for open hearings but the Repubs all voted against them.
Trump put out an edict that no one who is subpoenaed should testify.

I’m a man with so much tension
Far too many sins to mention
She don’t have to take it anymore
But since she said she’s coming hers
I’ve torn out my recording gear
Soon she will be walking through that door
I may be going nowhere
But I don’t mind if she’s there
She’s just in time for me
She’s right on time
She’s right where she should be
She’s right on time

So, Scott drew Nancy Pelosi as Nancy Pelosi, not a “cute” animal. Respect, or fear?
