I remember the premise of “When Worlds Collide” – where two planets were headed to our solar system: One which would take out the earth and the other would assume an orbit that would make it habitable.
And the story of how a handful of people managed to get a rocket off the ground to make it to the second planet.
Sure looks like we could use a second planet right about now.
And now I wish I was somewhere other than hereDown in some honky tonk, sippin on a beerYes I wish I was somewhere other than hereBecause that great fillin station holdupCost me two good years
A light year is the distance that light travels in a vacuum in one year, approximately 9.46 trillion kilometers. It includes both distance and time coordinates.
Had she said “It would take light many years to get there” instead of “It would take many light years to get there” it would have been a strange way to put it, but at least it would be correct…

Just Hitchhike using The Sub-Etha Sens-O-Matic. I think you can get one from ACME.com.

The closest Super Earth is only 31 Light Years away. It’ll take just under 54 days to reach it at Warp 6

“It would take many light years to get there.”
Come on, Scott. A light year is not a measurement of time.

Once again some people think a light year is a measurement of time. It’s a measure of distance.
