In a nautically political way, America is less like a monohull and more like a catamaran – with two hulls of roughly equal size – but unlike a catamaran – the two hulls want to go in completely different directions . . . forward and backward.

    That’s why we’re all spinning . . .

What happens next is each state certifies the election results according to state laws which range from 1 week to 5 weeks or more after election day. (California has until 12/11/2020 to do this)

    https://ballotpedia.org/Election_results_certification_dates,_2020

“The President of the United States is not elected by the popular vote. Rather, once each state counts and certifies all of its votes, governors prepare a “Certificate of Ascertainment” that lists the state’s Electoral College electors. These electors cast their votes for president, which are then counted and certified by Congress.”

“The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), an independent government agency tasked with preserving historical records, is responsible for transmitting the votes of the Electoral College to Congress. In NARA’s guide to the 2020 election, they outline a timeline that stretches from June (when preparations begin) to Nov. 3 (when the election takes place) to mid-November (when governors prepare a “Certificate of Ascertainment” listing the state’s electors) to Dec. 14 (when members of the Electoral College cast their votes) to Jan. 6 (when the vote is counted in Congress) to Jan. 20 (when a president is inaugurated).”

Top prosecutors in the so-called Durham probe into the origins of the Russigate investigation have reportedly found “no evidence” to support the foundational theory that spawned the investigation—namely, that Obamagate occurred and that Barack Obama himself needed to be punished for it.

According to a New York Magazine story relying on anonymous sources “familiar with the probe,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut John Durham has come up empty-handed and is growing increasingly frustrated with Attorney General Bill Barr over developments in the investigation–or, rather, the lack thereof.

Barr, for his part, has reportedly pressured Durham and his team for months over the investigation into the investigation–insisting that the prosecutor release the results before Election Day in an effort to use the full apparatus of the U.S. Department of Justice as a salve for President Donald Trump‘s electoral woes.

And while Barr has often energized the president’s base with updates about the progress of the Durham investigation, he has also repeatedly disappointed the same base by not producing high-profile indictments.

How come every time they count Mail-In ballot dumps they are so devastating in their percentage and power of destruction?” he said, apparently asking his supporters a rhetorical question.

But experts have said for months that the huge influx in mail-in ballots would likely prevent the election results from being known on Election Day, with most noting it could take several days for some states to even receive all of the valid votes cast via mail.

For example, in Pennsylvania, votes sent on or before Election Day can be received and counted until Friday.

“For anyone complaining about the ‘late’ shift in totals toward Democrats in MI, PA, and WI, most of those votes actually came in first.

It’s only because those states’ Republican-controlled state legislatures wouldn’t allow ‘pre-canvassing’ that they’re now being counted last,” explained University of Texas law professor Steve Vladeck.

“Don’t get me wrong—the first vote lawfully cast and the last vote lawfully cast are worth exactly the same.

But in many states, including some of those we’re fixated on today, there’s no correlation between when they’re cast and when they’re counted.

And that is why we wait.”

Posting this from Merrie Old England at the Ye Olde Trip To JerusalemPub, Nottingham. Getting those last couple pints of Guinness before the next lockdown here. Not to worry, I ll be on the Streets of London tomorrow, maybe I’ll go to Berkeley Square and listen for a Nightengale. Then back in the USA on Tuesday.

    For no reason whatsoever….

At the time of this post… it is 1:23 PM Nov 5 in the UK.

    ~

What are the restrictions on restaurants, bars and sightseeing in the U.K?

Beginning November 5, only essential businesses are allowed to operate.

Restaurants can operate for take-away or delivery services and hotels can host only people traveling for work purposes. Wales started a firebreak lockdown on Friday, October 23, allowing only essential activities (restaurants are not able to serve anything on premises, but takeaway is allowed).

Trump’s huge vote total breaks my heart. I recognize this America and I wish I did not. -

The most dangerous implication of this election is that tens of millions accept a fictitious world created by an autocrat and marketed by Fox News. (usatoday.com)

It’s time to accept that Trump is more than just a “personality cult” – that lying, scheming, racist, sexist, willfully destructive man is a true representative of who 50% of Americans are.

I can somewhat understand 2016 as a giant middle finger to Hillary Clinton and establishment politics. Trump-as-politician was a largely unknown quantity, and I can see for some the appeal on giving him a chance.

Trump in 2020 is very much a known quantity though, and we have to face the truth that half of America both knew this and said “that’s my guy!”.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

Well y’know, I had to finish off the bottle cause there was just a dram more than a shot… and I had to taste the new bottle, and I’m feeling fine.

So, happened across this: The Foggy Dew | Ireland’s Favourite Folk Song https://youtu.be/2lw1T-M_FNc

Believe me, Trump’s P*ssy Boys don’t want to be waking our Irish blood, nor the dozing Weathermen. We’ll give them some genuine boogey men, and whip the hippy Antifa into fighting shape.
