That’s a rather unexpected POV, coming from a libertarian. They usually don’t care about people or nature if they can win a dime or even more.

Drill too much and you end up with glut, have to spend for storage, prices go down, etc. that’s what the oil freaks don’t want. They don’t give a rap for pollution, bad water, unbreathable air, and all that “eco” stuff but the threat of losses through over production might be the thing that actually saves us.

Concerning Clay Jones’ piece today, I actually think that most Americans, left or right agree that our health insurance system is not civilized. I think that you can find that particular general angst in places like the fact that so many people who backed Bernie Sanders backed trumpster fire. People liked Bernie’s ideas, and when they didn’t get him, that voted to toss the system. On that spot you can place a finger on a commonality. I believe that a populist Republican could throw politics on its ear by endorsing universal health care.

While the rest of the world is developing alternate energy sources and new technology, we refuse to keep pace, but keep pursuing more and more of the same old stuff, even though it’s limited, costly, and dirty. So in the future, we’ll have to buy our energy from Europe. And why? So a few billionaires can make more money in the short term. Billionaires making more money is the only thing that’s important.

The thing is, the vast majority of them likely didn’t really believe he can control the price of things, and even if they did, they don’t care. They chose a side, and not a single aspect of that choice was based on logic, sanity, concern for society, or reality. He will not lose a single supporter even if he comes out and explicitly tells his voters they’re braindead morons for believing anything he said. He could have told them he’s going to raise the cost of everything (which sane people know he did), and they would have argued that’s a good thing, and voted for him anyway. We have to come to terms with the reality that we’re dealing with 80 million+ braindead, fascist sociopaths, and growing. It’s not looking good for the future.

Yep, that’s what happens when major swaths of a country massively under-fund education for 30+ years – you end up with an entire generation of people with little to no critical thinking skills or socio-political awareness. trump’s gibberish and constant lies makes it easy for the cult to convince themselves that what he means is exactly what they want to hear at any given time.
