Wouldn’t it be a hoot if VP Kamala Harris refused to certify trump on 6 Jan 2025

Concerning yesterday’s Nick Anderson, 2 things………………1. Heeeeeeeeee…..2. I love it when people talk about bringing in the college-educated immigrants. Aren’t those the people who will take the good jobs? It’s the entry-level positions we need filled, the ones no one wants, the ones your kids could manage……………………but those people might be brown.

Concerning today’s Clay Bennett, be brave and lean into 20 Jan. It’s up the the adults to fight against impetuous right-wing populism.

That’s my reasoning. Why let the nationalists win and have them try to pretend the Civil War never happened or try to repeat it so they’d try to win this time around? Isolationism has NEVER worked out historically. Ostracizing allies has NEVER worked out either. Yet these fascist wannabes are doing everything and then some to try to undermine who we are as Americans because they have such a fragile ego that they need to bully others to do what they want.

So now Elon and Vivek are saying that American workers stink and they refuse to use them.

    Donnie has been silent.

But of course he’ll go along with it. How many undocumented workers has he hired himself?

But here’s Elon. The asterisks are mine:

“The reason I’m in America along with so many critical people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies that made America strong is because of H1B.

“Take a big step back and **** YOURSELF in the face. I will go to war on this issue the likes of which you cannot possibly comprehend.”

1, there’s no place to go. 2, we did this to the world, we’ll need to clean up the mess.

Who is ‘we’ and what does “ victorious” look like? If it means the whole country becomes like CA, victory is indeed empty. Thx nancy, gavin. Fools.

Trump is concerned about Trump. Whichever group tickles his “what have you done for me lately” bone most recently will likely hold sway. For me, the question remains (10ish years and counting), will his admirers finally see through it?

    Canada had better watch out!

This is a new version of the Pig War – and we’ve got ourselves a new pig.

(’Sorry to bring this up on the 4th night of Hanukkah).

That’s how I intend to ride out the next four years (or at least two years in the Democrats win back the House and/or Senate in the midterms). Trump hasn’t even been sworn in yet and he’s already dealing with discord among his base. And I expect the “eating their own” to continue among MAGA and the Congressional GOP until at least the midterms. No matter what happens, I’m not leaving this country. First, all my stuff is here as well as my friends and family. Second, many of the countries people talk about fleeing to (Canada, Germany, etc.) have their own right wing movements to deal with. Third, not everyone can afford to move to another country. Finally, if everyone in America who still cares about rule of law, economic inequality, etc. flees the country, who will stay and try to fix things? Happy New Year.
