   I know it’s not an English lesson, but you used incorrect syntax. Two “thats” between the commas are unnecessary. Omit the last one and remove the comma.

   This really shows Waterson’s gift of vocabulary and the adult oriented nature of his post 1990 comics. I love Calvin’s look of consternation in the third panel!
