    The interactive point is relevant and good. There’s much good in opening up new modes of expression such as mash-ups. It’s senseless to resist the introduction of new things. Imagine the excitement of our 12-word language if no new words were allowed in. However there’s ALSO no virtue in being a nazi promoting the new ways as replacing the old, or vice versa. Airheads who function at no level higher than text messages are nothing new, they’re just the ones who 20 years ago never read anything more advanced than TV Guide (and not the articles :).

    …outside ignoring the world. :) Then again, how often do we bulldog ourselves through it “because I spent $30, darn it”? Or set it aside with a bookmark for a day that never comes.

    A different angle – I like that Johnson bucks stereotype here and portrays the woman as the technically astute party. (That holds even if Arlo whips out an Android. :) Disclosure: I’m an iPhone owner who does NOT feel the need to evangelize. People should focus on what they need (which too often is radically different from want). What — it’s a cellphone, too?
