Huh? The oxygen concentration at the top of Everest is the same at sea level, around 21%. This is an often-misrepresented concept. It’s the atmospheric pressure that differs at that altitude. There is no “lack of oxygen” only a lack of pressure. Supplemental oxygen is needed to compensate for that lack of pressure.

Early in my USAF career, a fellow airman told me that every time characters stopped and smoked, he lit and smoked a joint. He claimed that it made the books more enjoyable. He didn’t last too long in the service.
