summer, Nothing wrong with that! I can be at times also and occasionally I’ve found that my “trusting/looking for the good” attitude has bit me in the backside at times
The statement in the toon is that he lost the respect at the time of the hearings, you would have to check with the c’s at the time…. but honestly who really cares? The point is, Clyde is a jerk
Wanted to respond to the term limit comments… we can elect the House every two years. Clean house completely yet we still keep putting the same apples back in. I’ve said this before there are many good members of Congress. Of the 535 (give or take today) we hear of only a few and usually only the bad. The goods ones, and yes there are some, I’ve met a few, aren’t talked about. Let’s give each candidate in a general election so much money to spend and see how they spend it, do a good job there and then they can go to DC. I say limit the money not the term.
Wiley, I’m a huge fan of the new administration and did some volunteering for the campaign as did a gazillion others. Rest assured there will be fodder but it will not be spoon fed on an hourly basis like the last 8 years. It appears we are in fer a bit of a dry spell… well YOU are. we’ll still be LOL.
Also since there was not a super majority all he needed was a third of either house to follow him lock-step in order to get his way…why pass legislation when you know it won’t pass?
oldegodad, say what, President Obama was a Senator since Nov of 2004…thats 4 years by my calendar. I’ve heard something like that befor and can’t understand it. If you only count the days the senate was in session then you must alos count the 3 years, yes somebody actually counted, that W spent in Texas during the last 8. I can’t imagine where we would be if W had been president for all 8 years. A Senator is a Senator 24-7 just like a president.
“Excuse me, the President didn’t acidentally become a two term Govenor of Texas.”
The great uniter governed a stae where the legislature met every other year for a max of 140 days per year…his “legacy” in texas was uniting a group of lawmakers for a little over 400 session days (when they could do something). Give me a break! What a waste (lives time and money) of 8 years!
“I suspect we’ll see Daddy Warbucks Paulson, Rummy and those guys explaining their malfeasance. That’ll do just fine for now”
I agree, W is done can’t an won’t be elected for anything TG! His “advisors” are free to corrupt the next lacky republican they can convince that they walk on water. Talk about a messiah complex the GOP has played that card forever.
Cap’n Eddie is becoming more and more like Forrest Gump…he seems to show up at every significant event…..could it be they are related?
