I work in tech support. There are 4 general deficiencies I consider as a touchstone that a user has crossed the line into computer stupidity:
(1) Can’t drag one’s mouse cursor. (2) Can’t minimize a window. (3) Can’t find Windows Start button. (4) Gets confused about left-click vs. right-click.
I spent 4 years working for Mini-Puff and yeah, that just about covers it.. that and the “non-system disk error”… loved that one…
depends on the company…where I work the CEO actually comes onto the call center floor and listens to calls with us (as in, he has his own y-jack and headset and he just walks up and asks to sit with you)… Freaks you the heck out when it happens, but after the call you get to have a conversation with the guy who is actually running the place about your job and how you feel about it… pretty cool actually…
