When I was little, I used to “pull this stunt” all the time…I would say my stuffies were missing. However, my method was just a ploy to stay up late. Calvin has a strong attachment to Hobbes, and to Calvin, Hobbes is real. As Bill Waterson says, “Hobbes is both real and a stuffed animal. Neither view is incorrect.” In this strip, one sees that if something is real, it worries you.
