   I see Fred’s dilemma. Under normal circumstances, he would want to chase it. But, he doesn’t want to hurt the girl’s feelings. That’s why we all like Fred a lot!

   C’mon Fred! Why aren’t you howling? Howling at the moon would not be complete without your vocals! And we all know that bassets are also known for their ‘singing’!!

   It’s the fault of Fred’s owners. They should have had it arranged so that Fred’s ‘seat’ would be next to their couch instead of front of it. They should move either Fred’s seat or their couch

   Perhaps, Fred’s owners ought to keep a couple of towels on the floor, and a couple of extra mats (near the door) , so he would get some mud on there – rather than tracking it all over the house
