Yes, Grazer, but in the arts, it’s a chicken/egg dilemma. Demand wanes as the quality supply disappears.
That might explain why everyone quit rushing out to buy more Chinese junk. The race to the bottom, initiated by the likes of Wal-Mart, has ended…we’re there. With consumerism making up 70 % of U.S. GDP, it’s going to be a long haul back up to the ‘new normal.’
I find it odd no one mentions the lawyers in all this mess. Of 15 or 16 qualified presidential candidates that squared off last election cycle, no one dared raise the specter of tort reform. The greedy ambulance chasers are largely responsible for the huge spike in mal-practice insurance rates. It is obscene that some doctors pay half a million dollars annually for insurance. Are we so afraid of the lawyers, that we cannot say enough already? The out of control lawsuits are why we get so many unnecssary and duplicate tests leading up to a diagnoses. In just the last 20 years, lawyers, doctors, hospitals and drug companies have saturated the airwaves with their ads. I remember a time before this was the norm. Go to any doctor’s office and wait an hour. No less than 3 drug reps will come in. You can spot them a mile away…with their 50,000 dollar SUV’s and 1,000 dollar suits. this sight sickens me. The drug companies have corrupted congress the past 20 years; now they fast-track ineffective and dangerous drugs through the FDA for huge profits, while killing people. They also got their patents extended, effectively killing generic compition. Time to back up 20 years and stop the advertising, get the reps out of doctor’s offices and put reasonable limits on malpractice damages. That, and enforce the immigration laws and secure our southern border. Our 60-year post- wwII party has come to an end folks.
Much luck to you BQB, and great point sarge. I’ll be sure to shape up the next few days.
