What I love about this one is that it is subtle and very sweet and gentle, but also that the outcome is a completely logical extension from Anansi’s musing about Boody. As well as the quiet detail that the book Karma picks up is one of a stack of several books…

(Tickled me right in the middle of the old 6th chakra, this one did.)

It takes courage to end something, especially when it’s a thing you’ve created and grown, even if you think it’s the right thing to do, and especially when others urge you otherwise.

I shall miss Barkeater Lake when it’s done, but I shall give the other strips a try.

My hat is off to you, Corey, for doing the courageous thing (even though I’m one of those who wish it were otherwise).

@Corey, please count me among those who enjoy Barkeater Lake and would hate to see it end.

Four strips is a lot. Only you can tell what the right course of action will be, but I’d rather see this one continue, even if on a less-frequent schedule, if it can be done. Of your four strips, this is always the one I come back to.

To some people it is “broken English;” to others it is the richness of dialect. There’s room for both. Personally I love the way Yenny speaks.

@wolfbyte36, all best wishes to her and to you. Your schools must be on a similar schedule to the ones here - my son’s first day back is the day after Labor Day. My son is also starting his senior year. It’s an important year, and getting there is an accomplishment in and of itself.

Oh, Justin, you’re in for a treat - start with “The Colour of Magic” and just read your way right through - as fantasy, Pratchett is stunningly good, but as satire, he’s absolutely astounding.

It’s hard to believe now, but I started reading him at a time when he hadn’t caught on in the US and his books were mostly out of print here - and so I had to snag them when I passed through London once or twice a year.

Point of information for Pratchett fans: Sir Terence will be in the US at the North American Discworld Convention Sept 4-7 (Tempe, AZ):

PS: @Justin, no, you certainly have not outgrown your audience. Always look on the bright side of life :-)

@Justin, if this is the setup, I eagerly await the story :-)

Would it be ok with you if this panel got shown once in, oh, say, in the middle of a Geology 102 lecture? (With proper and emphatic credit of course!)
