Dad wasn’t in the military, but we moved around a lot! Dad was always looking for a better job. He was a tool and die maker, then became an engineer. He worked for G.E., RCA, Timex, and then a bunch of companies that made car parts. I went to 12 different schools in 12 years, 5 different states: IL, AR, TX, IN, MO. The longest stay was 2 years, the shortest, 1 semester. At one point, it became, “New town, new school, same old thing”.
My health is bad, I have no job, but you know what? I have Jesus. I have a God that still takes care of me. I’m alive, I have a roof over my head, I have food, I have clothing, and I have a good family. And by family I mean all my friends, my loved ones, my church family. I can sit and moan and groan about all the bad things that have happened, but it doesn’t fix things. Instead I listen to some good old Southern Gospel, and I pray. And I read the comics!!!
Our 1st game system was the old Nintendo with the original Mario Bros…My brothers and I used to spend lots of quarters at the nearby gas station that had a Gauntlet game…we convinced our parents that if they got us a game system for Christmas, we wouldn’t be wandering the streets looking for games to play, they would know where we were, and would probably save money! We did get the Gauntlet game for the Nintendo, and spent hours in the living room!
You ever not try something just because of all the bad things you’ve heard about it?
