As a senior in college, I met my grandmother at our favorite restaurant for lunch. When we were done, I had somehow lost a glove. When I got back to the dorm after vacation was over, there were mittens on a string waiting in my mailbox!

Could there a baby waiting in the backseat we haven’t seen yet?

  3. about 14 years ago on Cathy Classics

I’ve read Cathy since its beginning.

For many years I felt as though she were

looking over my shoulder. As long as she was

alive, my mom and I sent each other Cathy cartoons.

My favorite? It was still on my mom’s fridge when

she died: Mom is in Cathy’s kitchen and picks up a

can of coffee. She asks what the first rule of shopping

at convenience stores is? (Meaning: don’t shop there at all.)

Cathy answers, “Always remember to peel off the little price

    sticker before Mom comes over?”

The favorite from my fridge? Cathy and Irving are cooking in

Cathy’s kitchen when Cathy notices Irving is throwing out the bean

cooking water as he drains the beans. “ACK! Irving! You’re throwing

away the bean water!……………. “Oh no! It’s official! I’ve become my

mother!” That one arrived with a matching mug.

Cathy, I wish you the very best.

  5. almost 15 years ago on Cul de Sac

There will have to be some empty clean baby food jars to make either paper weights or snow globes with.

    Mystery meat??

    They must be in France…

  8. almost 15 years ago on The Argyle Sweater

When cats and dogs have surgery, they often chew their sutures and the post op area if they aren’t wearing an Elizabethan collar which keeps them from being able to reach the area to chew. They absolutely HATE wearing one but sometimes it’s a necessary evil.

  9. almost 15 years ago on Heart of the City

I love how Heart’s bangs and ponytail stand straight out in the first panel. She’s on her tippy toes!

  10. about 15 years ago on Fred Basset

I grew up with a bassett named Hilda who was my constant companion until I went to school. She would just love to march with the high school band each afternoon and would resort to baying loudly until someone let her out. The band director would bring her home after practice was over.
