I’ve had several cats.. if they were any less “aloof” I’d never have gotten them out of my face! They were happiest when they were between me and anything I was trying to do. I’ve never understood how cats got the whole “aloof” reputation. They are anything but!
Child labour laws have an exception for family business. You can have your kids (or grandkids) helping with your business from a very early age (unless it’s classified as a “hazardous occupation,” in which case they can’t start until they are 16.) You don’t even have to pay them! Ask any kid whose parents run a small business. :D
Unless I’ve miscounted Boopsie is now at that age when women simply don’t get cold. Ever. It’s not as much fun as you’d think, to go from too warm, to hot, to “power surge,” to way too hot, and back again. Listen to the Voice of Experience!
So called “Killer Bees” are still there, and more numerous than ever. They’ve pretty much replaced other bees in most of South and Central America, and are well established in the southern states of the US. (They don’t do well in cold climates.)
The reason you don’t hear about them any more is simply our collective short attention span. It’s old news. Ho hum.
But if you ever do have to bathe a cat, get an old window screen (or screening stapled to a frame) and put it in the sink.
Then put the cat on the screen and turn on the water. The cat will sink her claws into the screen, and you’ll be able to bathe and rinse her without trauma (to you.)
When you lift her out of the sink, the screen will still be attached, and you can usually dry her fairly well before she lets go. When she does, step back, and let her finish herself.
I had a manx cat that needed to be bathed frequently. Once someone told me this trick, there was no more “tribal scarring.”
It’s not all that hard to find a baby who is obviously somewhere in between; and that’ only counting physical characteristics. Take a look at http://www.isna.org/faq/what_is_intersex
