…and the left wing are crying racism in order to buy votes of minorities (hispandering) not because they care but because they want to remain in power. How is that any better? It’s not racism to expect people to be legal residents in order to remain in the US and receive taxpayer funded benefits like schooling simply because the majority of those residing illegally happen to be predominantly one race. We are a nation of laws and lawbreakers have to expect consequences for not obeying them including the possibility of deportation. That said, I am not sure what direction this story is going. If it is about racial profiling, I am against that. All people in the US should be expected at some point to prove their residence to receive govt services regardless of race.

Also consider this…the artist is using the image of a person who would be sworn to defend the christian faith including the sanctity of the life of an unborn. An apology is due to her for using her likeness in this way.

Maybe the author should take his own advice about minding his own business and ignore what others say if he doesn’t agree with it. There are valid reasons supporting both sides of this debate and too often one side side tries to demonize the other instead of having a civil debate.

I understand the real point of today’s comic wasn’t necessarily advocating illegal immigration, but to point out not everyone has had it easy in life and Baldo should count his blessings. That said, I do want to address some of the comments here.

We don’t need more green cards issued or more legal paths to citizenship. There is is actually too much immigration coming in legal and otherwise. Our job markets cannot absorb them all especially now in our weak economy. This hurts legal immigrants in terms of increased competition for fewer jobs and continued suppression of wages in back breaking jobs that should offer better compensation. Also, please do not buy into the lie about lazy Americans not wanting to do certain jobs. The truth is in certain occupations like agricultural you are not taken seriously when inquiring about working if you are not hispanic. I have experienced this first hand as so have my friends. This hiring bias also now extends into many opening level jobs our youth need. I do feel for countries that aren’t doing well economically, but fleeing them doesn’t solve the problem. It only spreads it to another country.
