What’s the deal here? Glasbergen.com has the latest cartoons, but GoComics does not. Is there a tiff going on between them? If not, why hasn’t this been updated?
Since natural gas is colorless and odorless, the additive methyl mercaptan or ethyl mercaptan is added to make it easy to detect a gas leak. This is a colorless, flammable gas with an extremely strong and repulsive smell. I don’t believe “long distance gas pipelines” have any “additives” placed in the line until it is at the point of sale to the local utility company or to a high volume customer. The long distance pipeline companies gathering, transmission and storage systems are additive free. If the buzzards are used for leak detection, it must be in another country where stringent safety regulations are not in place.
I gave up on this strip when the editors couldn’t care enough to respect the readers by running this dead strip in it’s original order. Guess there is someone else who needs “downsizing”.
The Bartender’s right. !@#$%&* mergers. B-)
