    howtheduck…

I gotcha. And I guess I was a bit contradictory with my two points. My apologies for that.

Overall, I think the artist had a specific point/punchline in mind, but left it somewhat open so the readers could use their own imaginations. That’s what can be so great about comics, and why I was a little taken aback by your overall seriousness with this strip and the comments. I just wish many people on here would loosen up a bit and enjoy it for what it is. That’s why I rarely comment!

howtheduck… good grief! “The strip relies on the reader filling in their own funny straight line”. Sometimes, that’s what the artist intends! If you’ve been reading comic strips for any length of time, that should be quite obvious.

But, anyway, do you not see John pointing at his watch with a look of disapproval on his face? I think, to most people, that would imply something along the lines of “That took way too much time.” Then, in turn, Michael belts out with his ‘But, daddy…” remark. Pretty cut and dry… for those of us who don’t take these strips too seriously!

When I was in college, I’d constantly dream that I was back in high school and forgot my locker combinations (had a regular locker and one for phys. ed).

Then, after I was out of college (8+ years ago), the dreams were of me in college… it was first semester finals (December), and I had completely forgotten about one of my classes all semester… never attended even once. Needless to say, the worry was the “F” I’d get!

I’m glad to finally know I’m not the only one having those types of dreams! :-)

judy700: It’s human nature to want to have sex. So, this whole deal about “self control” (especially when married, or adult enough to make rational decisions) is just absurd. The general public has been brainwashed to believe that it, and NFP, works better.

I’d like to seem some statistics on “NFP is more effective than any artificial meanings”. Yes, it’s safer than surgery, but just how is it more effective than birth control? I work in the sexual health and reproductive industry, so you’d have to try really hard to convince me, otherwise.
