@chassimmons“For crying out loud—-it’s a comic strip!” was Charles Schulz’s personal expression and concerned the daily business of getting out a comic strip.It had nothing to do with responding to “Christian complaints”—-or anything specific.Schulz was himself a devout Christian.As to the plane losing altitude, that appears to be coincidental to the lightning strike, rather than cause and effect—-in any case it’s all just to create a situation without which there’d be no story.
As I read some of these oh so serious comments, I am reminded of Charles Schulz speaking to questions about accuracy in some of the Peanuts gang’s adventures:“Oh for crying out loud—-it’s a comic strip!”
