Fusspot time. Misplaced modifier alert! The grammar here implies that the guy with the fur has to do the buying. Sorry. I’m a retired teacher. Can’t help myself.
I just received my copy of Gasoline Alley reprints (starting with the first “panel” in 1918), and I gotta say that Jim Scancarelli has been interpreting the old characters in a terriffically vivid and lively way. Good goin’, Jim.
Do a Google image search for the earliest Gasoline Alley scenes and you’ll see that Jim Scacarelli is so far doing a skillful job of capturing the tone of those old times.
I just ordered a copy of “Gasoline Aller 1918…” from a well-known web vendor. This way, I can make interesting comparisons of Jim Scancarelli’s “paraphrases” of the original published comix. Jim is doing nicely in capturing the atmosphere of the early days of Gasoline Alley.
I’m saving this to my photo file. It might be a good idea to have a printer service prepare me a large-size copy, too (for my own private use of course!!!)
