^^ And as such Michael , while humorous, I don’t think that’s an accurate description of Republicans nor conservatives. If there are some Reps where it is… well then I question the quality of their character and intellectual honesty and would venture to not support them in further elections.
Obama, if for anything, so get a large amount of respect and credit for more than just making the call. Heck, the ability to keep the action under wraps and not leak any details that weren’t supposed to be known is quality stuff.
Biden, however, can’t keep his lips shut and his brain controlled. But it’s nothing major so no biggie in my book. Unless someone wants to argue that leaking the fact that it was a Navy Seal team who did this mission was a vital piece of intel.
^^^ Pirate, I think I saw one yesterday from Matt that I “corrected” him on, lol, if you want to use that terminology. I did see that one. I haven’t seen anything like that from Howie.
But my “corrections” were more on minor stuff, like my second point in this thread, not what you had initially implied.
Maybe your perception of “…choking on an American victory” is different than mine and most of the conservatives that I know.
What I have found to be true is many libs who want to give Obama sole credit, which is not just unfair, but untrue and also levy continued demonization and ridicule of Bush and/or Cheney instead of pride of result and all those involved.
Now, if Matt and/or Howie were to want to give Bush sole credit and demean Obama and Obama’s active role in this event and belittle and such… well then, yes, your “Conservatives choking on an American victory” premise may have some legs. But the number of Americans, conservative and liberal, who celebrated the end of a great evil and the advent of some kind of justice 9/11 both individually and together directly refutes your desired assertion.
I think what is missed, and maybe mostly by those on the left within the comments I’ve read on this site, is that this is a victory for all of America… not solely Democrats or Republicans… or even a spitting in the face of either. My point is that pure-partisanship, in this instance, is often fruitless and speaks poorly on those who engage in it.
^^^ You have a point Reason. However, there is also a level of decency and moral uprightness that much of the Right likes to try to follow. But on this issue it’s really mixed. There are those on both the Right and the Left that are for and against giving Osama a reasonably respectful burial that he did not deserve.
What it displays is that we are more morally upright than our enemies. That is an important distinction and I think they did the right thing.
With that said, I’m thinking Glenn might not agree with my opinion on the matter, which would then place him in a similar boat as yourself in wanting to offer his remains no respect at all, or even disrespect, instead.
“How much false information did they get, as well? How many recipes for dip?”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Wow, that’s good stuff. Who’da thunk the tobacco industry got all there new dip formulas from terrorists’ misinformation ploys. HAHAHA! Now that’s a good one.
RockN… from what I’ve heard, that story line was trashed because of fan’s feedback (by that I mean disgust at the writer). There were many fans that liked the direction… but many, many more hated it. Thus, Superman is NOT renouncing the US citizenship we never knew he had.
Wow, now that’s dark.
