I want to like today’s strip. I really do. But I feel like it’s trivializing what happened - the fact that Americans were attacked on their own soil, that so many people died and will never be found.
I can imagine that the feelings are still raw to many on this day, and to be honest, they still sting with me, too. It just seems to these eyes like you’re trying to cover over what happened and say “Move on already.” I hope I’m misinterpreting.
(Of course, I suspect that you couldn’t have won on a day like this by posting a statement strip of any kind, and so the effort is appreciated.)
On a less “wow what a Debbie Downer” note, I have always loved and respected QEII, but her tribute on 9/12/01 impressed me to no end. She didn’t have to do that.
You’ve just recently found Henry 8.0? I found it a few months ago, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything so hilarious relating to the Tudor era. Brian Blessed is inspired as Henry. Nice to know there are other fans out there.
Okay, first of all, love the comic. I found it not too long ago, and fell in love immediately. It speaks to my inner Anglophile, my inner royalphile, and my inner lover of all things snarky (snarkophile?). Plus, apparently Anne Boleyn makes an appearance, and I can’t get enough Anne Boleyn.
However (and it may be that I’m just not that well educated in how royalty works, being American), I thought that as Queen, Victoria should be styled Her Majesty, not Her Royal Highness, as seen in “About New Adventures…” Am I missing something? If I am, please educate me, as I’m always eager to learn something new.
Again, love the strip, and thanks for the laughs. I need to “teach” my sisters how to play Mornington Crescent. :-)
Calvin, Captain Planet called. He’d like to have his hammer back if you’re done beating us over the head with it.
