Being from the country we also had issues with the old bat the mailbox players – dad solved that one weekend by building a red brick housing around ours – two weeks later they kids where playing again but they didn’t notice the need addition to ours because they liked to drive with their headlights off to lower their chances of being spotted – the next day at the high school the kid with his right arm in a fresh new cast was getting a lot of flack.
I understand folks displeasure with the holiday stuff being put in stores so far in advance of the actual holiday, but I feel the need to point out its not the stores requesting this stuff sent to them.
All these stores, Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, ect.ect. have a ‘home office’ who decides what get shipped to them and when ~ and these folks look at the sell reports from the previous five years. Those sale reports show just how much of the products sell and when it sells.
If the consumer was not buying massive amounts of the holiday product within the first month of it being released in the store - then the companys would not push it out so soon.
“We” are to blame for having Christmas items in August.
