I use C&H to help my sixth grade students with grammar and making connections to literature… this should spark some pretty cool discussions!
By the by - if anyone has old C&H collections they wouldn’t mind donating to a classroom, my kids can’t get enough of them. They’re being read so much that they fall apart!!!! E-mail me if you’ve got some to spare… my school is in Connecticut.
I see a lot of myself in this - even if friends or family are verbalizing support for me taking care of myself so I can be a better mom, I still project my own insecurities behind their words.
So many moms feel this even today - I cannot IMAGINE how it must have felt when this strip first ran, when the June Cleaver ideal stay-home mom was still very much the norm! ::shudders::
