   The problem was that citizens were told to go to busses at location A and resident non-citizens (students mostly) were told to go to busses at location B and many of the non-citizens followed the crowd instead of the instructions.

   I think I’m missing the reference for that house. It looks very Addams Family, but I don’t think Chas started those until the 30s.

   I hope the creators read these. I’ve been very impressed with how they’ve been dealing with the grandfather’s deteriorating condition and keeping it light and funny. It’s very difficult to write about with humor and sensitivity and they’ve done a great job.

   From the studies I’ve seen, mosquitoes are a portion of the diet of many species, but not a portion that would be missed if the mosquitoes were to all vanish. They provide no unique or essential nutrient. The percentage of the diet they make up for those who eat them is negligible.

   During WWII, England’s RADAR system was still Top Secret. They explained their pilots’ amazing ability to find German planes, even at night, by saying their pilots had great vision because they ate so many carrots. This is one suspected source of the myth.
