He could have handled that a lot more smoothly.

And “mesh” hats? Mesh is the sheer portion of garments made to look like skin (especially when it is a skintone color); it is the least warm I can think of.

A fur hat is more like it. I have a hat made fro the portion of the sleeves of my coat that were shortened. I get to wear those things once in a while when winter gets really cold. And my nighttime temperature is 69 in these days (74 in daytime).

And perish the thought that they might read a book when they can just watch a movie. My current read is Picture of Dorian Gray; definitely much more interesting than the movie which I saw years ago.

I would have said Me duele quando hago esto. (Not duelo), but what do I know? Spanish is not my native tongue, but I DO read Gabriel Garcia Mendez (usually one book per year) to keep in practice.

Well, I’ll have to be going soon because I’m attending the annual yule party of the 3 local Baronies. Not only will all of their Excellencies be in attendance, but most likely their Majesties as well. They would frown on one not in attendance for opening court, especially as I might not stay for closing court (I don’t stay up late at my age).

I’d like just one margarita with an extra squeeze of lime and a sliver of Susan’s magnificent cake before I leave.

I can remember wanting marriage after my divorce when I first found someone special, but he later confessed that he was frightened of my 4 and his 3 in a house (I was not thinking of immediate union in that way – just us). But we broke up and I eventually moved away, while still loving him and was celibate for 2 decades until we reunited in 2012. Then he asked WHY I had moved and did not believe I could have been celibate, but that’s the way I am. I now know that his dream of traveling the country in an RV will not happen (he loves the dependency of his customer base there in IL).

I love weather here in AZ and will never return to the Midwest so I’m on 3 dating sites and I can wait until I find someone who is really right this time.

At least they’re being neat and not leaving stuff on the ground for the pigeons.

My FB friends are 1) family who live away, 2) friends who live across town and 3) people I’ve chatted with on Cornell birds or an SCA group who share my interests. I always strive to keep my FB group small and make more local friends by giving classes (in leather work etc).

I can’t believe that fast food workers are demanding $15/hr. Before my kids were all in full day school, I worked in a hot dog and chicken place (not a chain) and worked for minimum as I expected. I ran the potatoes in an abraiser, sliced and soaked them overnight; every morning sliced fresh tomatoes and diced fresh onions and the lovely fresh dills etc. I ran the place alone all day making shakes, frying potatoes and chicken and running the register. For amusement, I drew his flyers (I remember one with a dollar bill showing Washington eating a hot dog).

I KNEW it was not the job I’d have all my life, so minimum was fine. Further on in my life, I negotiated and moved on into my engineering work.
