Reminds me of something that humorist Tom Lehrer said in the 60s about then recent plays that dealt with the inability to communicate. After listening to various characters go on for pages about how they can’t communicate, he felt that if someone can’t communicate, they should shut up about it.
Actually, there are vocal versions of this song. I have a live album of Dave Brubeck and Carmen McRae. She sings several of his famous instrumentals. I think the album was Live at the Basin Street East.
Finding your passion and making it your life’s work is a great idea, but not always possible. You might have to do other things while trying to achieve your dreams. Learn to be passionate about what you have to do and doing your best at it. No matter what the job, find honor and pride in a job well done.
