I’m not going to argue with you anymore because it’s just not worth it.
I used to post here several years back but drifted away. I returned this past summer because I’d missed the back and forth between Tracy fans and selfishly, with all the damned lockdowns and restrictions, I’d hoped it’d be a way to interact with people a little. Now I’m wondering why I bothered.
Wow…you’re actually comparing a critique of the art in a comic strip to how someone’s behavior at a funeral? I’ve been to three in the last 11 days (none COVID related) so don’t you dare lecture me about how to behave at a funeral.
My grandfather used to read Tracy to me on Sundays back in the late 60’s and I never looked back. The stories didn’t always make sense to my young mind but I loved the art and crazy villains. I’m so thankful for the LOAC series, not only so I could read the strip from the beginning but the later volumes have brought back memories of reading it with my grandfather.
My condolences to Mr. Bush’s family. I’d never heard of him before today but it sounds like he was a true an so I hope he and Chester Gould are up there somewhere chatting about Dick Tracy.
Honest question…how can criticizing the art be considered an attack on Bart, his wife or his family? I would totally agree with you if there were negative comments being made about them personally but no one is doing that. You may find today’s art acceptable and that’s your right, but some of us don’t. And that’s our right.
Brenda has an important piece of information to pass along to Tracy so she goes back to her office, fixes herself a cup of coffee and THEN places the call. I don’t know about anyone else, but if I had information that could potentially prevent a murder I would probably use my cell phone the second I stepped outside the coffee shop…er…travel agency. Would it make a difference in the story? No, of course not, but it’s little things like this that bug me.
My father gets 6-8 robocalls a day on his landline, though he’s smart enough not to answer any of them. I get maybe a call a week on my cell, which is totally illegal but does happen. I report all of the calls to the FTC Do Not Call List, though I’m realistic enough to know that I’m doing it more to feel like I’m doing something than out of any belief it’ll actually help.
I’m not going to argue with you anymore because it’s just not worth it.
