“It’s just that Frank, and, Nancy, don’t often see that side of Luann.”
Very True!! We know, in the security of our homes, that we have done our best to raise our children to be “good people”. Having someone outside our cocoon verify that, in a way we have not witnessed, will sometimes take us by surprise. Witnessing your children in a social setting can be eye opening!
Sweet story. My Daddy was raised from the age of five by a widowed mother. I don’t ever remember him saying no if there was a food item we requested. Candy not included – LOL. However, he did have a sweet tooth, so my Mother made excellent desserts daily.
After my parents passed, we were cleaning out their house. They had an extra-large chest type freezer in the garage. We found a 6 year old frozen chicken down in the bottom corner. My Mother could barely reach past the top 8 inches!
My niece has kept a fried apricot pie that was in the last batch my mother made (it was a family favorite). That thing is at least 25 years old.
Mrs. Horner is smart with years of wisdom. We would all be better off if we have a Mrs. Horner in our lives. Fortunately for me, it was my dear Mother, who shared her wisdom and love until her passing at 91! (1915-2006)
I’m not sure those of us living now will ever appreciate the changes the people of “The Greatest Generation” witnessed.
So weird – it made me LOL!!
