Once again, amazing. Looking at the last panel feels like just having watched a few seconds from a movie. It doesn’t capture motion by itself but implies perfecty what happened immediately before.
I somehow don’t think that he’s planning to set Linda up later, because he already could have had the maximum impact at this point. Retracting his question now means to me that he couldn’t pull through an unfair blow to someone he wanted to be his enemy. So maybe if Velda caught him by this streak of humanity before and made him believe that it’s all about the “human” in humanity, that could be a reason why he tagged along all the time. I hope this is going to make him remember his actual beliefs.
Oof. This just made me put my breakfast away for a moment. When the elevator went up on the last page, I thought he’d made it safely, but I had been following the bullet holes on the outside, well noticing that they went straight across the entrance. But this is… excellent storytelling, can’t say anything else…!
Oh my, I hope they don’t have some nasty plan for afterwards. Will it work at all? Almost biting my nails here.
