After a brief hiatus, I’m back, and playing catch up. Lovin’ the reference to Dr. Mean Green ( Gangrene ) and Nashville.
I too, met Sir Cecil Creape at a mall appearance in 1972. I was about 7 years old and I loved him from t.v. But when I got up close, he scared the bejeesus out of me !
Anyone here familiar with HERO INITIATIVE ? It’s an organization that collects money to assist older ( and young ) comic creators with health needs, hospital bills, etc.
Thay put out a benefit comic every year, with proceeds going to the HI fund. DT made an appearance in this years book, along with older comics characters.
Seemes to be a good ( ie. legitimate ) organization.
Also, while I prefer to see this strip in glorious black and white, the second panel looks great in color. The bow & neckties contrast beautifully with Dicks’ & Sams’ shadow profile.
I have been on a campaign to have my regional paper carry the strip, but all I get are polite letters telling me they will " discuss it at their next meeting ". I even had a petition with 100 signatures…but, no dice.
