There are quite a number of women roofers. I know of several women-owned roofing companies just in my area.We have a lot of women garbage collectors around here. Thanks to Mike Rowe, more and more women are moving into the trades now. Some will thrive, some will not, just like men in trades.

??? I had my own credit cards, in my own name, in 1973. It was married women who couldn’t have them in their own names.

Kris didn’t write Convoy. Bill Fries and Chip Davis (Chip of Mannheim Steamroller fame) wrote Convoy, under the name C.W. McCall.

Having a one-page book report written about one of my stories would actually be kinda nice, if I knew about it. As it is, I have to content myself with book reviews, many of which are so badly written I can’t tell if it’s critical or complimentary. No matter, I’ll keep writing as long as there’s at least one person who enjoys my little tales.

Parents had one rule: When outside, wear a hat with a big brim all the way around. Made it a habit, and to this day (I’m 71), no skin cancer on head or neck. Still waiting to see if all the sunburns on the rest of me will result in skin cancer.

I believe you missed Luann’s reaction, where she said no to being around sick people.

Would love to see her passion fall into welding. The more folks in the trades, the better for a society.
