“RoZan must destroy hu-mans. But…Ro-Zan is confussed. Ro-Zan loves woman, but Ro’Zan must destroy!” (painful dig at ROBOT MONSTER, the worst of the worst sci-fi flicks)
When I was a very young pre-teen, I recall my grandfather took me to the local Rexall drug tore and got me a Heath Bar and a Peanuts paperback collection at a quarter.
Well, I personally think $17.99 is too much for a paperback, even if it tops 800 pages. Amazon is (IMHO) absurd in their pricing. Of that, I think I get $4 tops per sold copy. The series, which had some slightly autobiographical touches, was written for the sheer enjoyment of it.
If there’s any profit, it’ll be from the Kindle or audio book sales.
WAYYYYYY OFF TOPIC: I got a proof copy of the paperback for MORABU (the second entry of my OTHERWORLD fantasy series) in the mail today. I had no idea it would be three inches thick and weigh a ton. I honestly figured someone had gotten a hold of an Amazon mailer and sent me a brick as a gag. Of that it had been packed in a box inside the mailer. It’s insane for a paperback to be this huge.
At other times, it’s a weaponized zither.
