Learned to read with my brothers' comic books. Often got chased out of the house by my mom on pretty summer days, but I showed her.... I took my comic books to read outside, usually in a tree somewhere. Today, I have a subscription to a real, 7-days-a-week, locally owned newspaper and the comics page is the first thing I read every morning.

When I see statistics about how few books people read after high school or after college, I am flabbergasted. I cannot NOT read. This year I’ve read around 20 novels, bios, and memoirs, and listened to almost 20 others while walking. What I don’t read much of anymore is magazines. But books? Can’t imagine not reading books.

If I had the space to collect stuff (I don’t after we downsized), I’d collect American Girl dolls and accessories.

You mean the power of a fickle, spoiled tyrant to back him up… as long as Musk does nothing to upset the Dumpster.

Very few authors actually make more than a few thousand bucks from a book, even a successful one. For every famous author you can name, there are hundreds like Laura who make a decent amount, but are far from rich. Adam gets regular assignments and regular checks.

Yes, exactly. He tried but had resistance on both sides of the aisle in Congress to keep him from doing all he wanted.
