What ABOUT all his Jewish fans? Would you have been more or less offended if if the theme had been based in Judaism? This is not about political correctness. Every comic presents some kind of world view, even the sillly strips. There are comics that represent single people, office workers, married couples, families, aliens, fantasy beings, police officers, talking animals, etc. And many of those comics slip in an occasional political POV, sometimes ones that I disagree with. But I don’t think they should be labeled ‘political’ cartoons or that the author has done something wrong. The definition of comic strip, according to Merriam-Webster, is ‘a group of cartoons in narrative sequence’. I understand if you don’t find a religious or political theme to be particularly entertaining, but that is where YOUR freedom comes in—you can choose to read his strip or not.

It is his comic strip, he can write about whatever he wants. In this country it is called freedom of speech. You are free to stop reading it if you don’t like it.

What a lovely, understated but powerful expression of the day. Thanks, Brian.
