I do that also, but I take it one step further. I ask them to bag the groceries in ‘paper in plastic’. I then use those as regular trash bags, the paper allows the bag to stand up while the plastic one contains any liquids that may escape from the paper bag. No buying of trash bags at all.Did I mentioned that I’m 70yrs old and live on a low fixed income, hence all the money saving tips.
If and when the ‘no plastic bags’ hits my area, I will kindly refuse the $.10 charge stating that I have reusable bags in my car and you’ll have to wait for me to go get them and if they refuse to allow my groceries to sit on their counter I will just kindly say ‘never mind’ I won’t be buying anything here today and do my shopping elsewhere.
Another thing our ‘robber baron’ Jerry Brown and our socialist state congress has just started on Jan 1 is, if you own a prepaid cellphone and you load more money on it you will be taxed 10% or more each time you add more money.
