I wouldn’t worry. Alexa misinterprets half of what I ask her anyway, so I don’t think she’s smart enough to properly spy on people.

Millennial here. We used chalkboard erasers all throughout my grade school years, up to at least 2006. Trust me, even the younger of us know what clapping erasers is.
No one draws a more accurate childish sneer than Bill Watterson. I bet he practiced in the mirror to portray it juuuuust right.
A lot of carelessness comes about because the person is dumb.
So the punchline in both strips is basically “It’s not all about you” and Rat’s head exploding. Not that terribly different, really.
