   I suspect that rather than referring to a painter, he meant a facade, eg fake teeth. Literally a thin slice of wood.

   Old memories. Bad smell, followed by many maggots falling onto kitchen counter, than plague of flies.

   They later found a dead rat.

   Glad I moved out.

   My favorite was “Home for unnaturally photogenic orphans”. Orphanages are the favorite choice for this sort of thing.
