This wouldn’t happen at my high school in the 90s. All gifts stayed at the office. They will send you a note when it arrives. You can only pick it up after school. They said students carrying their gifts around would disrupt class and cause hazards.

    That’s what my parents did.

My sister-in-law’s mother is banned from Publix from doing this. The manager told her it was against their rules that they owed her money by using coupons. I don’t know if she’s banned from all Publix stores or just that one.

You can go to Dollar Tree. Most cards are $0.50.

I work at Dollar Tree and feel ya. Had a lady have a buggy full of Halloween merch, she sees she only has $4, tell me she was going to the car to get more, and never came back. Thankfully she didn’t buy anything, but we still had to put it back up.

And that’s why my parents locked their door at night. We had to knock if we need anything like medicine.

I miss my grandparents on my Dad’s side. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them. Momma always wanted us to be close with her side of the family. Dad’s side was open-minded and country folks. Her side is judgmental and closed-minded.

When I was growing up, I was on the couch if we had company spending the night. They had my full-sized bed. I didn’t sleep in my brother’s room. I didn’t mind cause I watched cartoons on Sunday morning.

Sounds like my dad. I couldn’t do anything after school. Had to ride the bus to go home. They were afraid that I’ll get raped and kidnapped.
