When we bought a card table it had a piece of cardboard packaging that covered the whole top. I saw that and immediately realized it would keep the cats off a puzzle in progress. It means keeping the card table up until the puzzle is done but it works for us. A piece of cardboard the right size would probably work for you. Put some contac paper on it to spruce it up and weigh it down with a couple of decorative rocks. What? Doesn’t everyone decorate with rocks?
Off topic: ApologyI made a comment on GSD Mom’s post yesterday that made her feel bad. I am so sorry. I have been lurking here since BCN was added to gocomics and feel terrible that I introduced a bit of negative into this wonderful space. I tried to make my post light hearted to prevent any such thing but failed miserably. I will go back to lurking now. Thank you all for brightening my day every morning. Again, I am sorry.
@GSD Mom I’m so sorry, I really didn’t mean any harm. I lurk here all the time and read the comments every morning as part of my starting the day routine. I tried to be tongue in cheek but failed miserably. I am truly sorry, I will go back to curtailing my impulse to make comments. This is such a kind place and I feel I have tainted it a bit. To all I am sorry.
Apologies all around for going all spelling policey but I keep seeing “rouge” (red coloring put on cheeks and lips) being used for “rogue” (scalawag) EVERYWHERE. Even places where people should know better. Newspaper articles, looking for group messages in games “level 110 Rouge looking for Overland mobs” and it is just making me crazy. I don’t remember the last time I saw it spelled correctly. Sorry, rant off and sorry for the grammar, I can spell, can’t grammar worth beans :)
When I got my dentures I had some trouble with the top plate. I went back twice to have them checked because I wasn’t able to make the “k” sound and had discomfort swallowing. The tech took a little off the back but it actually made it seem worse. After lots of internet research I discovered the lack of a “k” sound indicated the dentures weren’t tapered properly at the back. Sure enough I looked and there was a very square edge blocking the “k”. After some very careful sanding and smoothing I was able to fix it myself and it took the discomfort of swallowing away. I recommend letting a professional do it. Hope that helps. Love my dentures but an ill fit is torture.
Oh, how nice! I love working with bamboo thread/yarn, it’s so soft and drapy. I saw the socks you made too, very nice.
