Was it wise of Tarzan to admit he was not a god?

I think the last time was in 2016, and before that in 1999. It takes 7-8 years to repeat the daily strips.

I like brickhouse’s comment “This has to be the dumbest strip yet.. SMH”. True! :-)

    Try December 5th 2016.

One of the monkeys has had enough, brought his palm (still inside the coconut) on Harrigan’s foot. The coconut broke. The other monkeys saw and figured it was the way to get free, and did the same to the bozo. Eventually all the monkeys were freed, Harrigan fled away bruised and battered, and swore never to pick on monkeys, while Tarzan was sitting and enjoying the show. End of story. Then Tarzan looked for less silly adventure, preferably with a hottie evil queen and some lions.

Oh, that?! One of the silliest story arcs of Tarzan’s comics. No hottie evil queen, no lions to kill. just some stupid old man whom Tarzan insists of keeping out of troubles.

Tarzan writes a complaint to the illustrator: “According to the novel, Jad-Bal-Ja appeared from nowhere and killed Belthar. Then Nemone committed a suicide (as a result of grief or maybe some magic) and everyone lived happily ever after. Why did you change the end?! At least you could allow me to kill Belthar, after he ‘took care’ of Nemone!”

Answer: “PETA intervened, pointing out that too many lions were killed (by you) in this story arc. Moreover, they thought it would be unfair to deny Belthar of his meal.”

Tarzan: “Well.. OK… maybe I’ll encounter Belthar or some other lion in the next adventure”.

Well said. It occasionally happens in Tarzan’s comics: March 30th 2020 and July 8th 2017.

Panel 2: as Tarzan prepares to jump on Belthar’s back and kill him, he leafs through the book: “Hmm… that’s not how the story continues… I’ll wait a bit till someone arrives to save the day (and me)… no spoilers.”

Panel 4: Tarzan scowls, because this is not how the story continues either! He decides to wait to the next daily strip before emailing a complaint to the illustrator.

I doubt Tantor will arrive. He has just read “The Return of Tarzan” (ordered from Amazon), the chapter in which Tarzan and his men kill two elephants for the ivory, and got really upset.
