I remember when my 6-year-old granddaughter was afraid of monsters under the bed and in the closet. Her father and grandmother told her there weren’t, but I remembered Terry Pratchett pointing out that that was futile. I went and got a can of “canned air,” and took it to her. I told her it was harmless to humans and deadly to all kinds of monsters. A spritz in each corner, in the closet, under the bed, by the window, and near the door had her perfectly comfortable.
