In the comics Superman actually gave Batman a kryptonite ring to use against him if he ever went rogue. There are also other ways to beat Superman as well. He is week against magic and has almost not true tactical sense. He is a battery and can be drained before he can recharge so he can be weakened. Read a comic book people. I still think Supes would eat him for lunch but it would at least be a fight, at least as written in the comic books. In real life it would not even be a contest.
Tue it actually comes from the seminal 1986 4 issue The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. The story is different as in that it is in the future and Batman has retired and is super jaded while Supes is basically a pawn of the government. He comes back to stop him. He uses all sorts of tricks to stop the Man of Steel.
Trekman this is when they do not know each other yet. Batman just sees an incredible threat to the world that he has to try to stop. He has always been about vengeance. They are going to fight at first but at some point they are going to communicate or Supes is going to do something to show Bats that he is not really a threat. Hence, Dawn of Justice.
