I have been going to the same eye doctor for many, many years. She once changed practices & her old one wouldn’t tell me where she’d gone so I had to see someone else. I eventually found her (thank goodness, I have vision problems & only trust her) and during our next appointment she asked me to give her my cell phone. I did and she put her personal cell in my contacts so I’d “never lose [her] again.” She’s the absolute best.
I learned to read long before I was 6. I remember taking an entrance test for private elementary school when I was 5 (too young for public school, had to go private for 1st grade only) without having to have the questions read to me. It’s a joy and love for reading which I still have all these decades later…
I tried to post a link in my first post but it didn’t show up so I guess it’s not allowed to post links here. According to the story, the house was in Seffner. I’ll try again to post the link with spaces so you can copy/paste and remove the spaces to get it to work. If this is blank after this line, it means even doctored links not allowed!
He is lucky. A number of years ago a sinkhole suddenly opened up down here under a house with a sleeping man inside. They were never able to recover his body.
I don’t really have words for how much I’m starting to dislike Bernice.
The problem (for me) is that Bernice is full of herself. She’s a psych counselor wanna-be and, after only a year of college and perhaps a couple of psych classes (if she’s getting a degree she has to take other courses, as well) she is totally unqualified to act as such. Help Luann as a friend? Sure. Help her as a counselor? A few years of education & experience to go before she can do that.
Guess it depends on how you look at it. Standard time, just about dark when I leave the office. DST, still daylight, much better for errands, working in the garden, etc. Some things are just tougher to do in the dark. Not to mention there are things that are safer in daylight, for example, walking from a parking lot to whatever building is your destination. It’s all a matter of personal preference.
I love DST. In a state where tourism/outdoor living is prominent, that extra hour of daylight is a godsend. Still light when I get of work instead of dusk walking out of the office at 5:45. We voted in Florida to have DST all year, but it requires federal approval and they obviously have far more important issues to address at the moment.
OK, I’m ready for the real comic strip to come back.
