Central North Carolina used to be like that before so many people flocked here, cut down almost all of the trees, took away the green and natural areas before building way too many buildings/homes/banks/office buildings/ect. Progress is certainly inevitable, I truly understand that, but the greediness has wiped away almost all beauty we had left in lieu of utilitarian pop-up buildings with no soul. The few downdown buildings that had warmth and charm (and were in good shape) were ripped down as well for more higher-capacity buildings. So many deer, fox, coyote, and other critters have nowhere to go and are in the neighborhoods foraging and trying to survive. It’s WAY too much, too quickly. I miss the charm and the perfect balance of natural and urban. My apologies, rant over….
I love both butterflies and moths! The moonflower and morning glory seed I planted last month are scurrying up the trellises, I look forward to seeing them soon.
Awww, they meant no harm!
