The kids are always ’reading into things." One of my favorite Peanuts was Charlie playing checkers with Snoopy. Snoopy was taking so long playing that Charlie was sure Snoopy had a fancy strategy planned. The more Charlie thinks about it, the more he is sure that Snoopy is ready to annihilate him. In the last panel, Snoopy is silently trying to recall whether he’s playing red or black checkers! I sure wish I knew where I could find this comic strip.
