Last time I used one was 1994. After Navy boot camp the company commander recommended we all tape a quarter to the back of our ID card so we could always call a cab in an emergency. Last time I saw a pay phone it was fifty cents to make a call.

I went to private school for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, then public until the 10th at which point my mother had enough of the strange goings on and home schooled me the last 2 years.

Off the top of my head I would say Smart People, with Dennis Quaid and Sarah Jessica Parker. Terrible movie. Then there is Yor Hunter from the Future, my parents took us to this in 1983, it became the standard by which we determined what was a hideous movie when I was growing up, much like reese828’s Santa movie. I have seen so many bad movies that I wish I could go to the creators and get a credit back for the amount of my life I wasted watching their swill.

Personally, I miss the meatball pizza pie that Pizza Hut had in the 80’s. These days I love the Papa Murphy’s Chicago Stuffed. Sometimes I am in the mode for a thin crust pepperoni and mushroom, it was my Dad’s favorite and the pizza we had most when I was a kid.

My parents were trying to build a house in the mountains when I was in jr high. We had no power except for a diesel generator that I had to crank start when we need to do laundry. Cooking was done on a campstove and the toilet was a small chemical toilet that I had to empty 3 times a week, and yes it made me gag everytime. All that fun came to an end when my sister, who was trying to do her home work by candle light, fell asleep and the candle caught the carpet on fire and burned the house down. Luckily, no one was killed. My dad was badly burned on his back though.

After that my parents borrowed a 1 bedroom camper which they and my sisters slept in while I slept in a tent outside all summer. When the winter weather hit I had to move into a metal storage shed. I woke up in there one morning and found the biggest centipede I have ever seen in my pants.

Then my parents bought a 4 bedroom mobile home which wasn’t too bad. We tried to build another house but couldn’t finish it before evenutally going bankrupt and moving out of state.

I think all this fun lasted about 5 years.

I don’t drink coffee, tried it once and couldn’t stand the taste. I find drinking plenty of water helps keep me going in much the same way others claim coffee does for them, to each his own I guess. I do like to have the occasional iced tea but that is the extent of my caffeine intake.

My parents were always building things when I was growing up, so I have picked up a large number of fairly heavy objects. But the heaviest would be a complete engine, probably 350 pounds. As for the fast, cheap, good argument. I watched my parents try to do things fast and cheap for decades. If there is one thing I learned from them its that, if its cheap its almost never good, and if its fast its generally not cheap or good. So these days I wait for good work that is never cheap but sure does last a good long time.
